Protecting Private Student Health Information in an Increasingly Public World
CoE-PHI Workshop at ASHA Annual School Health Conference
Friday October 18, 2024 — 11:30am – 12:30pm EDT
The behavioral health crisis among young people demands a community of support, and trained professionals to address their needs. Concerns about the privacy of their behavioral health information may prevent students from accessing behavioral health services, especially when those services are provided within their educational settings.
Join the Center of Excellence for Protected Health Information (CoE-PHI) on Friday, October 18 at the 2024 ASHA Annual Conference, for an overview of federal health privacy laws relevant to young people, and an engaging discussion about what school districts need in order for their students to feel safe seeking and receiving treatment for behavioral health needs.
